F.C. Pearce signing her first novel, Listen for the Morning Dove, 10:30 AM

March 5, 2016 from Santa Fe

Hello Readers!  I'm delighted to be writing my first blog entry on this site, and I thank you for your interest in joining me here to read about the latest news, thoughts I have on my debut novel, Listen for the Mourning Dove, and on life-- its own precious self.

You might have read somewhere that I spent over seven years writing Listen for the Mourning Dove. There were times when I thought I'd never finish, but finish I did.  Then came the exhaustive editing process, the cover, the book design/production, and the great relief to see the book published and available February 2, 2016.  Now comes the next phase: outreach to the reading public.  I'm grateful to you readers for spreading the word about the book to your book groups and other reader friends!

A book group in San Diego has chosen the book to read and discuss this month. Thank you, San Diego readers! I'm looking forward to many other groups joining in the reading, including a great group in Columbia, Missouri coming on board soon. You'll notice there's a reading group discussion guide on this website.  And lucky me, the Garden District Book Shop in New Orleans will be testing a few of my books soon.  I'm so glad to have the book represented in such a special store!

A few thank you's: to Santa Fe artist and graphics design guru John Tollett for the book's cover and interior book design/production...and for his calm, professional manner; to Texas artist Susan Mansell for her very beautiful watercolor adapted for the cover; and to my friends who offered their own brands of talent and support, including Dr. David Gregory for his painstaking edits.  Not only are John,  Susan, David,  and other friends talented and generous, but their good natures have helped make the sometimes puzzling and grueling side of things actually pleasant!  I'd also like to recognize my friend, Greg Weber, who helped with design of the advance reading copy of the book. Greg sadly passed away last August at age 48.

I'm looking forward to the first book signings in Texas in March! Please check out Book Events on this site for the particulars,  and keep checking this blog for news and updates from me as I mosey on down the road with Listen for the Mourning Dove (I'm not talking about my next novel in the works...yet...stay tuned).  Moving ahead, I'm looking forward to chronicling my experiences of note here on this blog.

Have a good day, and remember that you can reach me at pearcesantafe@gmail.com (click on the CONTACT link on this website for direct email access).  I look very much forward to hearing from you!

Goodbye for now, take care, and do come back for a visit!
